In the B2B sector, almost three quarters (73%) of surveyed brokers said they thought internet and cyber insurance products would be more in demand and purchased more often by companies in the next 24 months. In the private customer sector, about half the brokers surveyed expected increased demand. The results came from the “MaklerAbsatzbarometer” study on cyber risks carried out by the analytical firm YouGov.
‘At the same time, both target groups lack knowledge about the types of coverage available. There is lots of potential here for brokers and insurers. They must explain the options to policyholders and introduce related products clearly. For insurers, the challenge is to provide brokers with comprehensive, customer-oriented information about their cyber protection portfolios to lay the foundations for successful placement in this insurance sector’, says Markus Braun, Head of Business Unit Reports at YouGov.
